The Troy-Bilt Thoroughbred Lawn Tractor is a high-end riding mower similar to the Troy-Bilt Big Red Lawn Tractor. The Thoroughbred sports a smaller cutting radius than the Big Red (46" rather than 50") and, due to its smaller size, a less powerful engine (22 hp Single Kohler rather than 24 hp Twin Kohler).

Otherwise, the two riding mowers sport similar features, including a cast-iron front axle and a hydrostatic foot pedal transmission.
