Toro 20331

$320.00 Released February, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Overall fairly durable and dependable. Very easy to put together, even for the inexperienced. Variable drive makes mowing a breeze.

The Cons:Handle is a tad low for taller people. Unusually noisy--often makes a very distressing sound like the blade is going to fly off. Recycle/mulch function is fairly inefficient, leaves lots of grass behind.

The 20331 is an entry-level model in Toro's line of Recycler lawnmowers, available at the same price point as the 20330. Like all units in the series, it is powered by a Briggs & Stratton engine, but it lacks the low-emissions and electric-start features of some higher models.

Where to Buy

It is virtually identical to the 20330, except it is more suited to uneven terrain thanks to 11" rear wheels. The 20331 is a self-propel mower with variable speed, and so does not require the user to actively push it; higher-level models adjust automatically to the user's walking speed. Toro includes several features to improve ease of use, including ReadyStart, which eliminates the need to choke or prime the engine, and a port to which the user can attach a garden hose to clean the underside of the mower while right side up. Two years of full warranty coverage are provided.
