A 5-speed disc drive gear transmission is used to keep acceleration smooth, and basic drum brakes are used for smooth deceleration. The single blade can cut at heights from 1.5 to 4.0 inches, and the cutting deck can be lifted with a mechanical lever. The blade clutch is manual as well, allowing the power to the blade to be cut off in case of jams. This mower has a 28 in turning radius, allowing for most situations but necessitating some planning in certain lawn layouts. The seat is adjustable, and has a high back for comfort.
