The 45 minute charger has built in fan to cool the battery and uses "active 3 control" for current, thermal and voltage control. The Makita-built motor delivers 0-1,100 RPM and 0-4,000 BPM with synchronized RPM and BPM for faster drilling, and had a built-in torque limiter to disengage bit when hitting rebar. There are 3-modes of operation for rotation only, hammer with rotation and hammer only, with the chisel able to rotate 360° with 40 different positions. It is 14-1/8" long, weighs only 7.0 lbs and is ergonomically designed making it easy to handle and reduces operator fatigue. The Makita BHR240 comes with two 18 volt batteries, 45-minute charger and tool case, and is also sold as the BHR240Z as the tool only.
