The Craftsman 42" Briggs & Stratton 20 hp 28905 is a mid-range gas powered riding mower very similar to the Craftsman 42" Briggs & Stratton 20 hp 28904. The sole improvement that the 28905 boasts over the 28904 is its hand level controlled hydrostatic transmission (as opposed to the 28904's foot pedal controlled automatic transmission).

Otherwise, the 28905 and 28904 are practically the same as both feature a Briggs & Stratton 20 hp OHV gold series engine with XRD and spin filter and a 42" precision cut mowing system.

The 28905's hand level controlled hydrostatic transmission provides an easy to use riding interface capable of providing speeds anywhere between 0 and 5.5mph forwards and 0 to 2.8mph backwards.
